(Thursday, December 19, 2013 – Tumon, Guam) The night sky in Tumon will be lit up on Sunday, December 22, 2013 as a special fireworks show hosted by Perez Bros Inc. wraps up the Guam Visitors Bureau’s 50th anniversary.

“We’ve had an amazing year in celebrating record tourism numbers and honoring our industry pioneers,” said GVB General Manager Karl Pangelinan. “The fireworks show on Sunday is a gift to island residents and visitors for their continuous support. It also will preview the New Year’s Eve Tropical Fantasy Fireworks display that we put on annually with the Guam Hotel & Restaurant Association.”

ShowPros Pyro plans to launch the fireworks at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Matapang Beach area. Since a barge will be used off Tumon Bay, public access to the beach won’t be restricted to watch the 5 to 8 minute show. The barge also gives more flexibility to position the festivities in the center of Tumon and set off the fireworks from different angles.

GVB invites the island community to take some time off and enjoy this brief holiday treat.
