Dreaming of a white sand Christmas? Look no further.

Christmas on Guam is unlike any other. For starters, you might spot Santa wearing shorts and zories (flip flops), relaxing on the beach or riding around the island in a carabao cart. Christmas on Guam means powder-sand beaches, brilliant blue skies and warm ocean breezes. There are also loads of activities, shopping sales and events, and special holiday lights and displays that are entertaining and fun for picture taking, such as the “Christmas Love From Guam” Light Park.

From December 10th to January 15th, the “Christmas Love from Guam” Light Park will feature holiday lights and scenes the whole family will enjoy. From a carabao-drawn cart full of toys to a red and green pine tree forest, the displays depict traditional Western-style Christmas themes as well as the sunny tropical Guam-style Christmas. This year, the park will also present a special “Legends of Guam” Chamorro cultural installation featuring the shapes of the proa, latte stone, and local sea life in the glow of the lights. With food, live entertainment, and interactive art displays, the park makes for a Christmas destination even the Grinch would have a hard time resisting.

The “Christmas Love from Guam” Light Park opens December 10 and lasts all the way to January 15. The park will be alight every evening from 6pm to midnight, and is located across the street from the GVB office and Ypao Beach Park in Tumon. Admission is free.
