Military Visitors
Guam serves as a vital strategic hub for the U.S. in the Pacific and is home to several major installations, including Naval Base Guam in Santa Rita, Andersen Air Force Base in Yigo, and the newly activated Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz in Dededo. Along with the Guam Army National Guard, these commands allow service members and their families to immerse themselves in the island’s unique culture and contribute to its vibrant economic growth.
The USO Tumon Bay, located in Dusit Place (formerly known as The Plaza) in the heart of Tumon, offers a premier "home away from home" for service members. This state-of-the-art facility is open daily, providing a spacious environment where families can enjoy complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, modern gaming stations, and refreshment areas. The center also features dedicated playrooms for children and quiet areas with massage chairs to help families relax. For the latest events and virtual tours, visitors can follow USO Guam on social media.
The thousands of sailors, airmen, Marines, and soldiers stationed here are an integral part of the community. Their presence significantly bolsters the local economy, making the military the second-largest contributor to Guam’s GDP, following tourism.
The people of Guam hold a deep respect for the U.S. Armed Forces, and many CHamorus serve proudly, often choosing to be stationed close to home. In appreciation for their service, many hotels, restaurants, and local businesses across the island offer exclusive military discounts. Because of its tropical beauty and welcoming spirit, Guam also remains a top R&R destination for personnel stationed throughout the Indo-Pacific region.
