The “paint and sip” experience is a fun way to unlock your creativity, bond with family and friends, and take home a unique work of art that you created with your own hands.
The term “paint and sip” is used to describe an art studio that holds open painting classes where guests learn how to paint a scene step by step. Guests are allowed to bring their own beverages and snacks, while the studio provides all of the art supplies.
There are a handful of established paint-and-sip studios in Guam including The Pink Elephant, Color Guam, and Canvas By Fawn. Located in the center of Tumon Bay, Canvas By Fawn is owned by local artist Fawn Nadine, who relocated her art studio to the Acanta Mall in April 2017.
At Canvas By Fawn, guests can learn to paint canvases inspired by Chamorro culture and island life that feature latte stones, mermaids, sea turtles, tropical sea and landscapes and more. If there is something personal and unique a guest would like to paint, Canvas By Fawn encourages and welcomes creativity and one-of-a-kind designs.
Painting sessions run between 2.5 to 3 hours and are led by Fawn herself, who has over 13 years experience as an artist and painter. Even if you have zero painting experience, Fawn will guide you step by step so that by the end of the class you will go home with your very own masterpiece.
Sessions start at $35 per person and include an 11”x14” canvas and all supplies needed to complete your painting. Additional options include larger canvas sizes, dinner and dessert plates, wine glasses, and ceramic coffee mugs.
Guests are welcome to bring their own snacks and beverages (non-alcohol or alcohol) and classes are open to ages 6 and up. Ages from 6 to 16 receive a $5 discount off the class fee. Walk-ins are welcome but it is recommended that reservations be made in advance.
