Shopping in Guam is where the details of the island are found in unexpected places. Boutiques, art spaces, and flea markets offer a closer look at our culture through what’s made and sold locally. Choosing to shop local isn’t just about what you bring home but about the kind of places you step into while you’re here.

Art Inspired by Island Life

Art is everywhere. You’ll see it on murals at bus stops, on buildings, and along walls, where it becomes part of the everyday landscape. Many of these works reflect the island’s history and identity, while others speak to present-day life and the people moving through it.

It’s also something you can take with you. Local art can be found in weekend markets and small galleries across the island, with work by Guam-based artists ranging from prints and paintings shaped by CHamoru culture and contemporary life. Spaces like the Guam Gallery of Art, GUMA Makers Market, and Guam Art Studio showcase a wide range of work by local artists.

Island Boutiques & Locally Designed Finds

Local boutiques are where you’ll find pieces that carry subtle nods to the culture, from locally designed clothing to handmade jewelry and home goods.

Small shops and maker spaces across the island feature everything from handcrafted décor and artwork to sustainable, locally inspired products. It’s worth browsing local markets and vendor spaces before or during your trip.

One spot you won’t want to miss is CHamoru Village. It’s part market, part community space, and a good place to browse local vendors, pick up handmade goods, and get a feel for the island all in one stop.

Want to know the best part? Everything in Guam is duty free, which makes those local finds even harder to pass up.

Flea Markets & Community Spaces

Every Saturday and Sunday morning, you’ll find everything from fresh produce and local snacks to handmade goods and clothing at the Dededo Flea Market. Grab an island-style breakfast while you walk around and take in the energy of it all.

You’ll also find night markets and pop-ups around the island that bring communities together. One of the most accessible is the Tumon Night Market, a weekly Sunday evening event in the heart of Guam’s main visitor district. It transforms Tumon into a pedestrian-friendly space filled with food stalls, local vendors, live entertainment, and cultural performances.

You’ll come across other village night markets and seasonal events too, where many of the same vendors show up with art, food, and handmade goods, along with a few you won’t see anywhere else.

A lot of that creativity also comes to life during cultural events and festivals, where artists showcase their work and connect directly with the community. It’s a great way to see the culture being shared and celebrated.

Island Memories

Shopping in Guam is less about what you bring home and more about where you found it, who you talked to, and the moments in between. You might pick up a piece of art that reminds you of a mural you saw earlier that day, or something handmade that came with a quick story from the person who made it.
