about Asiga Corp
Asiga is an indigenous and women-owned company based in Guam. Like many CHamorus, we’re crazy about food. That's why when our bright and wild kid, Pulan, developed a dairy sensitivity, we set out to make dairy-free and plant-based sweets that were delicious. These adventures began in our humble kitchen, just above the lush, pre-historic village of Asiga in southern Guam. The fruits and botanicals of Asiga inspire our recipes, allowing us to celebrate our island flavors and share them with the world. "Asiga" is the CHamoru word for "salt," every baker's secret ingredient!
At Asiga, we strive to re-create humble flavors and ingredients we remember as kids, amplifying them to show off what Guam has to offer: the sweetest mangoes from the westside; the creamiest bananas from the south; and floral, fruity, robust honey from all over the island, including our very own bee hives in Asiga.
Because Guam is our home, it is important to us to be mindful of how we can be positively impact our community. We source local. Our flavors rotate with the seasons. We grow our own food. We keep alive recipes passed down by the women in our family to remember them. We bake the old-fashioned way, and we teach our kids to do the same. Through handcrafted sweets, we're claiming ownership over our food systems and nurturing our connections between us and those who came before.
