Guam American 250: CHamoru Cultural Groups Performance Call
Represent Guam at the 2026 Great American State Fair in Washington, D.C.
Håfa Adai! Are you a Guam or U.S. -based CHamoru cultural organization or performing group? The Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) invites you to apply to join the official Guam America 250 delegation this summer.
As the United States celebrates its Semiquincentennial (America 250), Guam takes center stage at the Great American State Fair in Washington, D.C. This is a historic opportunity to showcase the resilience, music, dance, and storytelling of the CHamoru people on a national platform.
Event Overview: Guam at America 250
- Event Name: Great American State Fair (America 250 Celebration)

- Dates: June 26 – July 10, 2026
- Host Organization: Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB)
- Purpose: To celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States by highlighting Guam’s unique cultural heritage and "Inafa’ Maolek" spirit.
Performance Schedule & Stipend
With a minimum on 10 performers/musicians, selected groups will perform three (3) times daily during their assigned cycle. Selected groups can also apply for a travel & performance stipend (up to $10,000 per group per cycle) to support participation.

How to Apply: CHamoru Cultural Performance Application
In developing your dance presentation, groups are strongly encouraged to incorporate the seven pillars of CHamoru culture—inafa’maolek (interdependence), respetu (respect), mamahlao (humility/modesty), chenchule’ (reciprocity), inagofli’e’ (kindness/compassion), minagåhet (truth), and espiritu (spirituality). These values should be reflected not only in choreography, music, and costuming, but also in the intention and storytelling behind each performance. Presentations that authentically embody these principles will elevate the cultural integrity of the showcase and create a deeper, more meaningful connection with audiences.
We are seeking dynamic performers who authentically represent Guam’s living traditions. To apply for the Guam America 250 delegation, please submit the following by April 15, 2026:
- Online Application: Complete the official GVB form below.
- Audition Video: A 3–5 minute presentation or sample video of your group’s performance.
- Group Profile: A brief biography and description of your cultural program.
